Shadowcatcher Imagery’s 2008 Wedding Season begins! January 28, 2008

This weekend was the kick off for our 2008 season and we couldn’t wait to get going! 2008 starts us off with the wedding of Erin and Matt up at the Pine Hills Lodge in  Julian. We were SO hoping to have snow, we got close… 42 degrees and …….rain ;-(

Despite the weather, the wedding was absolutely beautiful! The lodge was so warm and inviting and stunningly decorated by Erin and her mom, the colors they chose went beautifully with the setting, and the love was so felt by all!

Erin and Matt decided to see each otherbefore the ceremony, so to get that big Ta DA… we had the groomsmen blindfold Matt and lead him down to the Gazebo where Erin was waiting….

The ceremony was so beautiful. The room was completely lit by candles!

This was the one place the weather really got in out way. Erin and Matt had planned a sparkler exit, but with the rain pouring down we had to improvise. Fortunately there were plenty of rose petals left and Erin & Matt made their big exit through a shower of rose petals!

….. we do shoot other things

Friday night, one of our favorite models, Alexia celebrated her birthday with a party like only Alexia can put on. There were belly dancers, firedancers, and belly dancing firedancers! It was amazing, and sometimes just a little hot, a couple of times I felt the flames go by just a little too close.

Shooting this was great practice for us, our first wedding of the season next weekend, is doing a  sparkler exit!

New! New! New! Sneek peak at our new Albums! January 20, 2008

I have been trying to find the time for months to do some new studio sample albums and finally just decided last week to hibernate here for a few days to get to work on them. All of our album samples are from 05 and that has been driving me NUTS!

Now the new samples are together and I can’t wait to get them in! Here is a small sample from one of them featuring Bree and Chuck from April 07. This will be a Flush Mount album with an etched aluminum cover, which looks absolutely amazing! This album will also have the option of a smaller duplicate album for parents, which we ordered too.

 Deciding which weddings to use for our new samples is always so hard. We wanted to do a sample of a flush mount album with metallic images and thought Bbarbara and Alxes’s Pala Casino wedding would be perfect. Here is a sneak peek of that album. These images on the metallic paper are going to pop like crazy!

Back in the saddle again… wooo! January 13, 2008

Today we were back to shooting Engagements sessions…… and it felt great to be at it again! Time off  for the Holidays is nice but we really couldnt wait to get started again!

 

Today’s session was with one of our upcoming Los Willows couples, Kristan and Frank.

We met Kristan and Frank at Heritage Park so that we could get some shots of them with their amazing 63 Lincoln Continental.

Sweet!

Frank has been working on this baby and has done a beautiful custom interior along with rims and an air suspension.

When we finished at the park we headed over to the Cafe 101 where Loryn made us the most “Picture Perfect” milkshake ever! Thanks Loryn.. you rock girl!

We had a great time working with Kristan and Frank.. and can’t wait until their wedding in March!

A Brand New Year, and a Fresh New Blog for Shadowcatcher! January 1, 2008

 To me the start of a new year is always a lot like the first day of school, or a fresh new white canvas,completely clean and perfect, challenging me with endless possibilities.

So… to start this New Year off, we have moved our blog to this new location. Here we have the ability to show larger better resolution images and use some other great new features as soon as I figure them all out! The old blog is still active so if you want to view anything from there just click on the link in the sidebar.

2007 was an amazing year for Shadowcatcher! We are growing beyond our dreams and have made some great new life long friendships with some of our clients.We thank you all for the wonderful opportunities and experiences we had the pleasure to share with you!

 2008 promises to be even better as our calendar books up every day! This year we will be doing more family portrait sessions, senior sessions, and Glamour and Pin-Up, and we hope to do many more Trash the Dress sessions! Those are the best!

We will also be adding new products as the year goes on, new Wedding Album styles as the manufacturers have them available, new photography packages, not just weddings, and many other exciting additions for our clients!  Keep checking back with us to see what’s new!
