Trisha and Keith Get Married! March 31, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 4:41 pm

Saturday March 29th, we headed down to Point Loma and the Oceanview Room for the beautiful and super fun wedding of Trisha and Keith!

Trisha’s gown was beautiful, the bodice was encrusted with tiny blue rinestones that sparkled like diamonds.

I always love the frenzy of the bride getting into her gown.I think it is the only time in our lives that it takes at least 3 other women to help us get dressed!

Trisha had a super cute surprise garter to match their wedding theme. A Seahawks garter!

Our stunning bride… Trisha!

And our handsome groom for the day… Keith. Can you tell he is a bit of a football fan?

A really beautiful moment during the ceremony.

Trisha and Keith always look so great together and we had a blast working with them! The day was filled with lot’s of really close family and friends and the warmth and love of these two was felt by all.

Thanks so much you guys for having us as a part of your day, it was amazing!

There is nothing better than waking up to an emailbox full of happy clients! I wanted to share some of them here. Knowing we touched so many people doing what we love best, makes all the hard work worthwhile… we are touched ;-)  Thank YOU for the opportunities!

Hey Heather and Skip On the pictures … honestly they are truly spectacular. We are all just over the top thrilled with them. I am sure you will be hearing from Al & Cathie very soon on the matter, but from me … Thank You thank you thank you ! They are truly just breathtaking. There is a couple of shots that made me stop and cry. Thank you Christine La Grua General ManagerLos Willows

Dear Heather & Skip -I tried twice leaving a comment on your Trash The Dress blog, but for some reason it didn’t take. So I’ll tell you here, I thoroughly enjoyed your photo shoot! I’m in awe of your creativity, its inspiring to see your outside-the-box approach to Wedding & Wedding-related photographs. You know who you are, don’t ever change!Take Care -Michael.

Hi Heather.  I just have to tell you how AMAZING those pictures are from the Trash the Dress photo shoot on your blog.  I also greatly enjoyed the photos at Los Willows and the Inn.  It is so great that you asked Lauren and Jason to be your ‘models’ at Los Willows and then again for the Trash the Dress.  I think it is the coolest ever to have pictures of them now at the Inn since they stayed there on their wedding night and the pictures of Lauren by the fireplace as so beautiful.  I was thrilled.  But then yesterday to see the glimpse of the pictures from the Trash the Dress day…I’m speechless.  Absolutely amazing pictures.   Gosh I have a beautiful daughter!!!  I think my favorite (so far) is her on the motorbike in the boots.  My husband’s favorite is her in the thorn bush and pond.  Of course those SHOES while she is hitch-hiking are awesome!  You guys are truly the most talented photographers around.  Thanks for creating such lifetime memories.  Cheryl

Heather & Skip, I wanted to say thank you for being very professional, shadowcatcher imagery exceeded our highest expectations. In a day that was filled with joy, happiness, and passion you two did not dissapoint. You managed to grab all aspects of the day including the smiles, the tears, the hugs and kisses. You two will be highly recommended! It is almost a year after our wedding and I find myself still going back to my pictures and asking myself, how did they get those perfect pictures? Thank you for making our special day that much better. Regards, Chrs and Stacy Connors

Trash The Dress- Palm Springs! March 10, 2008

 Sunday March 9th- Palm Springs

This was a day we had been looking forward to for a loooong time! We had the opportunity to joing with a bunch of other great photographers and head out to Palm Springs for a huge group trashing of the dress.

We invited 4 of our Shadowcatcher alumni wedding couples to join us. I was able to arrange an 8am hair and make up call for all of our girls at Studio 158 on Grand Avenue in Escondido. The amazing ladies of Studio 158 transformed our sleepy brides into runway divas.. we can only take credit for making the Starbucks and doughnut run. Here are our girls at our first stop in the desert! Do they look amazing????

We had a great day and didn’t get home until 9pm, we were exhausted but it was well worth it!

Here are a few of my favorites… more to come later in the week after I catch up on some editing from last weeks weddings!

Big hugs and thanks to our models Brenna & Julien, Joelle & Dan, Lauren & Jason & Christina… love you guys!

Monday March 3rd

Today we had the photographers version of Christmas! Full run and unlimited time at a fabulous venue, 7 of the best brides & grooms in the world, and the opportunity to create magic!

Since the wildfires Los Willows has undergone some huge renovations and Skip and I were so honored to be asked to shoot some images for their new brochure.

So many people jumped in to volunteer to make this magic happen.. it was great! Our models were Shadowcatcher alums, Brenna & Julien, Lauren & Jason, Christina, and our couple to be in 2009 Val & Ben who had a great dress rehearsal.

We had beautiful flowers, faux cakes, cruises on the boat, food, the entire Los Willows wedding experience was re-created for the day.

I couldn’t wait to get home last night and check out all the images we shot, they are amazing, these couples did a great job!

I wish I could post some of what we shot, but until Los Willows makes their selections we are going to keep them all a secret.

A HUGE thank you to everyone that jumped in to make all of this happen! Our couples are soooo the best!

kristan & frank tie the knot at los willows! March 3, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 7:02 pm

Saturday March 1st

So excited to getting the 2008 season going we headed out to Los Willows for Kristan & Frank’s wedding. This was the first time we had the opportunity to shoot at the Inn at Los Willows….. wow, it is amazing up there! They have a full makeup and hair salon and a view that is unbelievable!

Kristan arrived early up at the Inn for hair and makeup. Kristans’ gown was a beautiful shade of ivory with the most amazing antique lace trim.

And Kristan looked ~~~~ S T U N N I N G!~~~~~~~~

After Skip and I finished up with the girls at the Inn we headed back down to to Los Willows to  get ready for the big moment when Frank saw his bride for the first time.

Kristan was waiting in the gazebo.. what a great and tearful moment that was!

Los Willows was decked out beautiful for the wedding, all of the new changes there were stunning! I loved the flowers done by Sherri, gorgeous red roses trimmed in black feathers.. I LOVE feathers! I think these were my favorite flowers in years!

The brides room at Los Willows is located in the perfect spot for peeking at guests arriving!

After the ceremony we got some more great bride & groom alone time… I love this part!

Kristan has to be the bride with the happiest feet ever! She spent the day in her custom airbrushed wedding Vans.

The reception was great, we had some excellent music all night long and everything ran totally on schedule thanks to DJ Bill from Just 4 Fun and the staff at Los Willows.

Kristan and Frank hada really beautiful wedding day surrounded by so many friends and family. It was wonderful being a part of everything and being able to capture all of those special moments.

Kristan and Frank, you guys were so much fun to work with, we wish you all the best!
