Today Skip and I headed out to the SDSU campus for a super fun E-session with Amy and David.

Amy and David met their Sophmore at SDSU so it was the perfect spot for their session.

We got in a few really great shots before we headed out to the OB pier to catch the sunset. After getting them totally soaked.. we got some really amazing sunset shots!

Here are a few of our favorites….

A few weeks ago we had the super pleasure of working with Judy from the Classic Candy Buffet  at Todd and Ginas Los Willows wedding.

Judy was just super to work with, she kept us and NR3 video happy with our favorite candy all night long, we were all running on a super sugar rush! Since the wedding, Judy has been checking out our images, and has become a Shadowcatcher Blog fan, and yesterday sent us the sweetest email, it really touched me and I had to share it here….

Hi Heather!

have become sooooooooooo into your blog.  I love to see the weddings you did over the weekend. Your pictures are truly art and they talk to me.

I have seen alot of wedding pictures but nothing like you and Skip.  You know that is a great picture if it can touch people in that way.
The way you catch the light in your pictures is one of your gifts and talents.  I truly feel we cannot have enough light around us.

Ok …………. Keep bringing on the LIGHT
All’s well,
 Judy
If you have been considering a sweet treat at your wedding, be sure to check out Judy’s site. The display was stunning and the guests LOVED it!

biranne and aj’s engagement session October 20, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 4:19 pm

Sunday October 19th

What a perfect ending to the weekend! The beach, perfect weather, football, a super fun couple, and amazing Boxer named Bailey! Who could ask for more!

Brianne and AJ are getting married the end of May at one of our favorite venues… Los Willows!

We had a fabulous session at the beach in Cardiff!

I was so happy that Brianne and AJ brought along their girl Bailey. When they drove up I could see her in the backseat of the car, looking out the window with the most excited look on her face, I knew right away we were going to have a blast!

Ok… look out Erin and Jenelle, I may have found the next Shadowcatcher assistant ;o) When she wasn’t posing as a supermodel, Bailey and I bonded, she stuck with me and gave “Mom and Dad” some pointers. Not sure why but I always seem to do my best work with a dog glued to me, it just feels right! I am REALLY hoping Bailey gets to come to the wedding, I’m sure I could use her help!

Thanks so much Brianne, AJ and Bailey, it was so much fun hanging out with you guys, we can’t wait for the wedding!

Brianne and AJ now have their own page on our site at http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com/brianneandaaron.html

The page includes a link to all of the images from this session and will be updated with wedding images as well.

Jessica and Jimmy’s Rancho Bernardo Inn Wedding October 19, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 8:55 pm

Saturday, October 19th

Today the Shadowcatcher team was close to home again, in Rancho Bernardo, those short drives home after a wedding are the best!

This was our first wedding at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and we were really excited to explore all of the possibilities of a new venue. We hooked up with Jessica and Jimmy at their rehearsal the day before just to check things out and get our plan together for the wedding day.

Jessica and Jimmy are the sweetest couple ever! You just can’t help but love these two, their smiles just knock you right out! And what a PERFECT match! We always get the best couples!

The weather was perfect, the setting amazing and the details were fabulous! The food… to die for! I have always heard the RB Inn has the best food, but we never had the chance to sample it until today. Everything we heard was right, and then some! This was the best wedding dinner I think we have ever had. I think we are going to have to go back sometime and have dinner again, just so we can eat it at normal people pace. (Wedding vendors eat at 100mph so they don’t miss anything…except savoring the food.)

It was a beautiful day, again the kind that makes us so happy to be doing the work we do!

Ok, now the good part… our favorite images from the day………

Jessica and Jimmy… CONGRATULATIONS once again! You two rock!

And a special shout out to Steve from Advanced Entertainment who kept us moovin all night long with some great music!

Lisa and Biran’s Bernardo Winery Wedding October 13, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 7:52 pm

Sunday October 12th 2008

What an amazing day we had today, not only was the weather absolutely perfect, but we had the opportunity to work one of the sweetest couples ever, Lisa and Brian.

Lisa and Brian were referred to us by Shadowcatcher Alum Bride and Groom, Angela and Russel who’s wedding we did last year. Thanks so much guys!

We started the day with some Getting Ready shots at Lisa and Brian’s home, and then headed out to the winery.

The venue was so much fun, so many great things to work with, we even did a sort of Trash The Dress session right after dinner! Lisa’s gown was beautiful, and she was all about climbing on anything just to get a great shot! Wooooo Lisa.. ……you rock girl!

Here are some of our favorites from the day…..

Reason #865 why we loved working with these two ;o)

Lisa and Brian, thank you from all of us for choosing us to capture all of these great memories for you! It was an honor and pleasure to be a part of the day!

what a sweet subject I had in today for a portrait session! October 9, 2008

Wednesday October 8th

Today I had the pleasure of working with… cake! I love cake!

Every wedding we do, they seem to call to me, they are the first scent my nose picks up as I hurriedly enter a reception room!

Honestly, what I love the most about wedding cakes is the art of them, every one has it’s own special artistic form, an expression of the bride & groom.

Last May at Shannon and Mike’s wedding, they had the amazing upside down wedding cake created by the artists at Tasteful Cakes. Well… a month or so ago Eddie contacted me to see if I would be interested in doing a shoot for them with a couple of their cakes. They loved the way we captured the upside down cake at the wedding and were looking for someone to do some artistic cake shots.

I spent a wonderful couple of hours working all by myself in the studio… just me and the cakes and the ipod at full blast. No time constraints, it was the best!

here are a few of my favorites……

Eddie and Teresa were so super thoughtful, they even brought along some sweet little treats for all of us here! And they were DELICIOUS!

Tasteful Cakes INC is a definite check into for your wedding cakes!

Saturday, October 5th

Today Skip and I headed out to Los Willows in Fallbrook with our assistant Erin for the wedding of Gena and Todd.

After some nice rain the day before, the grounds at Los Willows were more spectacular than ever! We were really excited to be back at Los Willows again and also really pumped to be working with Norma and John again from NR3 Video.. we love those two!

Gena and Todd’s wedding was just beautiful! Their colors were white and a really vibrant pink, they fit the venue so well! It was an amazing day filled with so much love-laughter and quite a few of those … oh so happy tears!

Here are a few of our favorites from the day…

This is Gena and Todd’s little baby, Flower, she is sooo adorable, and it was great to have her be a part of group photos!

The AMAZING, beautiful… and so popular with the guests Candy Bar by “Classic Candy Buffet”

Todd and Gena… Congratulations again from us all.. you two are one amazing couple!

Enjoy the honeymoon!
