As a fellow photographer, I appreciate the attention to detail that Skip & Heather bring out in their images. You can tell they interact with their subjects/clients very well. Capturing fun and original shots that recreate the mood of the moment.
No need to take my word. Look at their site, talk to their references. Then vote for who should be #1!!!

It’s been two years since my wedding and people still ask me who did our photography!

Heather and Skip each have their own, individual talents and expertise, but they share an incredible eye for making the most subtle tweaks or twists to turn an image from great into remarkable art.

Skip and Heather provide the most unique wedding photos I have ever seen. Professional, efficient and more fun to work with than Jerry Lewis at an MD Telethon!

I absolutely love Heather and Skip! My husband and I were married three years ago this week. We had Shadowcatcher do our engagement photo session on La Jolla Shores beach and the sunset shots came out fantastic! Our wedding photos also came out beautiful. They sure knew how to make a stressful day into lots of fun with their great personalities and the little extras they do for the bride and groom. We are blessed to have such gorgeous memories in our wedding album, and even more so to call Heather and Skip our friends!

They captured every moment of our special day in such a beautiful way!

Morgan and Sean’s steamy Los Willows Wedding August 24, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 7:37 pm

Saturday August 22nd

Today we headed back up to Los Willows for Morgan and Sean’s wedding. We have been looking forward to this wedding for a looooong time! When we first met with Morgan and Sean, it was early in their wedding planning stage, and they asked us for some ideas on other vendors we thought were good. We were sooo happy that they loved everyone on our list, and got to work with all of our favorite people, who did an AMAZING job at what they do!

Bethany from Splendid Sentiments did the beautiful floral arrangements – Don officiated- Jerry from Cloudbreak did the video – Judy from Classic Candy Buffet did an amazing candy bar- Marqui, Marqui Artistry did the makeup on all of the girls, and Kelly and Brittany from Swank did all the girls hair! My dream team ;o)

Morgan and Sean also brought in a DJ that did some beautiful lighting in the Pavillion, the reception had a very “Club” look… very nice! Really great for pictures!

It was one of the best days ever, Morgan and her mom put so much into the planning.. it sure showed!

Here are a few of our favs from the day…..

Are these soooooo cute! Little bride slippers  ;o)

This was so much fun, Morgan and Sean are both scientists. So, instead of pouring sand, they blended clolored water from beakers to make purple water, their wedding colors.

Sunday August 16th

Sunday, Team Shadowcatcher headed back out to Los Willows for the wedding of Pro Golfer Michael Derminio to his beautiful, now wife Rachel!

Los Willows couldn’t have looked lovelier! The weather  was an unbelievable 80 degrees, unheard of  for August. Rachel told me she had been praying for that kind of weather and let me tell you, if I need prayers, I am calling Rachel for help, because hers sure do get answered!

Everything about this wedding was absolutely spectacular, from the colors and flowers they chose, to Rachel’s gown… which was absolutely…. STUNNING!

We had a great time working with Rachel and Mike, their families were so warm and friendly.. it was a wonderful day!

Here are a few of our favs from the day……

The best Father Daughter dance ever …..and the first one that had me smiling instead of being all teary!

Wow… what a week we have had! August 18, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 2:36 pm

Tuesday August 18th-

We have just been super crazy busy the last few days, with an engagement session, Crusin Grand promotion, a workshop at the studio, and a wedding! I hope to catch up on some blogging today, and also get calls returned and emails answered, I expect a really looong day!

I got up really early this morning to gst to work on an image that I did Saturday at the workshop our studio hosted for other photographers this weekend. We were lucky enough to bring in Rbert Alvarado who is the modern day master of the Classic Pinup. Robert and his wonderful model, Cigi, spent the day at our studio showing us, and the others some new pinup processing techniques.

Here is my first try at what we learned….

And a big speical shout out to Kelly Camp from Swank Salon and Marqui from Marqui Artistry for coming out at the crack of dawn on a Saturday to do Hair and Makeup for our model. And Roberts model Cigi… what a sweetheart you are… thanks soooo much!

Day 2 of August 09 Wedapalousa…. It’s Jena and Tim! August 11, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 6:52 am

Saturday August 8th

Today team Shadowcatcher headed out to Rancho Santa Fe for the wedding of Jena and Tim at the RSF Garden Club!

Our assistant Veronica and I left Skip with the guys at the Garden Club and went over to the RSF Inn to meet up with Jena and the girls for some getting ready images. We met our good friend, videoagrapher Kaiya  from San Diego Hi Def Weddings out in front and then all teamed up to get some shots of the dress, shoes, flowers etc. before Jena arrived. A a photographer, it is so great to work with a professional video team, when you can all work together, the results are amazing!

Once the girls were all dressed and ready we had a little bit  of time to get some images of  Jena and the girls at the Inn, while Skip and Kyle, the other half of SD High Def weddings, were working back at the Garden Club with Tim and the guys.

The ceremony was beautiful with quite a few very tearful moments… I love those!

At the reception the DJ kept the guests very entertained with some really fun dances. Just when I thought we had seen everything.. he  choreographed everyone in a medley of  songs from Grease…. ok…. FUN!

It was a beautiful wedding and we were soooooo happy Jena and Tim chose us as their wedding photographers, this is one we will remember for  a long time!

Here are a few of our fav’s from the day!……..

Jena and Tim, hope you two have a blast in Hawaii! And Congratulations form us all!

And thank you so much to Jena’s mom Lizz for offering us a flower arrangement to take home! It looks beautiful on the coffee table in our living room, and still smells so great!

Day one of our sizzlin’ August Double Header… Meet Lani & Joel! August 11, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 12:36 am

Friday August 7th

Lani and Joel had a BIG wedding day planned! We started off our day with a quick run to Micky D’s  for a power breakfast of Egg Mc Muffins, then hit Starbucks where we picked up our assistant Elizabeth. From there it was off to Mission Valley and Joel’s apartment where the girls were all getting ready. Elizabeth and I hung out with the girls getting some great shots of the dress, shoes, etc. and makeup and hair prep. After that, it was off to Balboa Park where we found our groom Joel at the organ Pavilion. Soon the limo bus appeared with all 16 members of our bridal party and our stunning bride… Lani!

We got some great romantic shots of Lani and Joel seeing each other for the first time and then Skip, Elizabeth and I put the bridal party to work and got some fun shots there. We wish we had been able to have some more time in Balboa Park, but all to soon we had to head back  to Poway for the wedding at the beautiful St Gregory’s church.

One of our other wedding assistants Veronica met us at the church and she and Elizabeth jumped right into action setting lights for the family group shots … Lani and Joel have REALLY big families, fortunately we were able to do all of these before the ceremony. The ceremony itself was beautiful. I think St. Gregory’s has to be my favorite church for  weddings so far. The natural lighting is just amazing!

After the ceremony it was off in the limo bus to the ferry landing in Coronado for some more fun images with Lani and Joel and their bridal party.

Last stop… Coronado Community center for the reception. We had Elizabeth ride in the limo bus with the bride and groom and bridal party to get some fun shots on the bus, and Veronica went on her own  to the Community Center to get some candids of the guests at cocktail party, this is how we can be in many places at once… teamwork!

The day was just the best, Lani and Joel are such a sweet and wonderful couple, and their friends and family were wonderful. It was a long and really fun day!

Here are a few of our favorites……

And here… is where the party got started!

I loved this shot just because it had one of my favorite images from their engagement session in the background  ;o)

This was sooo much fun! The DJ had the girl who caught the bouquet sit in a chair, and told everyone that the garter catcher guy would put the garter on her. But first… he got out  a blindfold and blindfolded him, while Joel switched spots with the girl. So blindfolded Mr. Garter Catcher, was really putting the garter on Joel. He was such a great sport about it.., I LOVED the look on his face when he figured it out ;o)

Lani & Joel…  we are so happy to have been a part of this day… it was full of some beautiful moments, we are so happy to have caught them all for you! Hope you are having a great time in Hawaii!
