Shadowcatcher Imagery tends to blow our little minds. There are times photographers Heather & Skip Middleton are shooting so far outside the box, it’s time to redefine The Box.
Case in point, their latest Trash-The-Dress-sesh. While making arrangements to photograph the Wedding of a San Diego attorney and her heart’s desire, a U.S. Federal Agent, Shadowcatcher entertained a request for a post-nuptials Trash The Dress session at the San Diego prison where the couple both work. The pictures above are from the photo shoot and the results are creatively spectacular.
We love what we do… and most of all we LOVE to have fun with what we do!
Natalie and Bryan’s Romantic Sunset E-Session October 20, 2009
Monday, October 19th
Today Skip and I headed for the coast for a super romantic sunset engagement session with Natalie and Bryan.
I first met Natalie about 3 years ago when she worked at the tanning salon I went to. Natalie always loved to hear the stories about the weddings we were doing, and loved looking at all of the pictures we did, we always knew someday we would be there for her when she met her prince and it was time for her wedding. ….fast forward to about a month ago… I got a call from Natalie… she told me she was ready… she is getting married in August!
Natalie is now a hairdresser and is the manager at a salon, this is where she met her honey Bryan. Bryan is in the military and is getting shipped out next week for 7 months. Bryan and Nat wanted to get all of their wedding arrangements made before he left, so we jumped right in and got their session done. Mom nature really stepped it up for us and gave us an amazing sunset!
Natalie and Bryan wanted both the look of a park and the beach for their session, so we took them to one of our favorite spots in Encinitas and Cardiff. I LOVE, LOVE this park in the fall, it is one place in So Cal that you can really feel the seasons changes. The liquid Amber trees have leaves falling everywhere.
Here are a few of our favs from their session…. I love these two together, their feelings for eachother are so deep, Natalie’s smile, when she looks at Bryan could power the city of San Diego!

Norisa and Justin’s Pala Mesa Golf Resort Wedding October 19, 2009

Today Skip and I headed out to the Pala Mesa Golf Resort for Norisa and Justin’s wedding. We had our assistant Janelle back on board with us after having her away for months on the Keith Urban tour…. welcome back Janelle!
Norisa and Justin’s wedding was really beautiful! They had their florist drape the ceremony area in a gorgeous copper fabric that really added some elegance to the site. Norisa and Justin found us just a couple of months before the wedding… and we are sooo happy they did! What a super fun couple!

We at Shadowcatcher Imagery are proud to announce that we’ve started an association with John Malashock Dance and their Outreach program. We recongnize how important the Arts are to a balanced society, and feel that supporting not just the accomplished artists, but the up and coming ones is very important. We will be supplying photography for the Outreach program’s classes at all levels and we’ll be doing what we can to help Malashock Dance in every way we can. We are huge fans of dance as an art form and feel that a program such as that of Malashock Dance, that reaches out to the community to give children and youth dancers a chance to work with a world renowned dance company deserves as much support as we can give it.
So look forward to some really great, and fun, dance photos coming in the future!

We got together Thursday afternoon with our friends and newlyweds Tracy and Rex Smith to do some headshots of him for upcoming projects. Working with Rex is always a high energy event, he’s always “on!” With Tracy serving as art director and Rex working his charm to the max, we got some really great images of him. Afterward, we adjourned to our studio to go over the wedding images we’d done, followed by a great dinner at Stone Brewery, just up the hill from our place. All in all, a wonderful day with some really wonderful people. Thanks, Rex and Tracy!

Jenn and Bucky tie the knot at Pala Mesa Golf Resort! October 13, 2009

Today Skip and I headed out to Pala Mesa Golf Resort with our assistant Elizabeth for Bucky and Jenn’s wedding. If you scroll down a few entries, you will see we just did Jenn and Bucky’s engagement session. These two were a whirlwind into our lives, and we have loved every fast paced minute of it.
I have no idea how these two pulled this wedding together so quickly, but I have to say… it was BEAUTIFUL! From the weather, to flowers, ceremony, everything had a very special personal touch.

My Fav Starbucks Barista… Morgan and Jennifer say “I Do” at The Rancho Bernardo Winery! October 13, 2009

Todays wedding was a super special one for us, my fav barista Morgan got married! I have known Morgan 3 or 4 years, he works at the Starbucks right near our house. Over the years we had gotten to know eachother very well and have shared a lot of our interest in photography. We were really excited when Morgan asked us to be the photographers at his and Jen’s wedding. This is when we started to get to know Morgans fiance Jennifer. From the first moment we met her we knew she was the perfect bride for Morgan! These two are the perfect match!
The wedding was absolutely beautiful! Our favorite florist Bethany from Splendid Sentiments did the florals, and as always did not disappoint us, in fact, she blew us away with her creativity on this one!
Jennifer was beyond stunning in her gown, and Morgan looked pretty darn good too! We had a great time working with them at all of the really fun spots at the winery…. and got some amazing spots… we LOVE this venue!
