Jen and Mark’s e-session.. the wedding is only 21 days away! November 30, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 5:45 am

Sunday November 29th-

Today Skip and I went down to San Diego to meet Jen and Mark for their engagement session. We had an amazing plan on some really great spots to shoot at, but unfortunately our couple hit some major traffic on their way down and we lost 5o much-needed minutes of light.  But… knowing how to do what we do, we were able to turn it around and get some really fun images… really fast!

Jen and Mark are getting married next month at the Hotel Del, in a winter themed wedding that sounds absolutely stunning… we can’t wait!

Here are a few of our faves……

Laurel & Ed’s Richland Schoolhouse wedding!By San Diego Wedding Photographers- Shadowcatcher Imagery! November 23, 2009

Saturday November 21st

Today Skip and I were on our own.. no assistants… missed you girls! We were at the Richland Schoolhouse in San Marcos for Laurel and Ed’s wedding. This is a venue that we have always wanted to work at… so beautiful, and so much history… we love that, it’s so inspirational!

Laurel and Ed’s day couldnt have been more perfect! We got to work again with our fave florist Bethany from Splendid Sentiments… here floral artistry always just wows us! And we also had a chance to meet and work with Opal from Allies party rentals.. what a ball of fire she is! Opal had everything running beautifully and on time all day!

One of my favorite things about the day was that due to the early sunset 4:40 pm we had a chance to work with our bride and groom right after the ceremony instead of  doing the groups first and then doing the bride and groom alone. It had such a different feeling.. these two were so giddy and off in their own amazing place together, I felt a little intrusive taking pictures, but honestly… I dont think they even noticed me ;o)

So… here are a few of our faves from the day…..

I love this generational shot! The similarities are amazing!

Some people can really work a dance floor!

Congratulations again Laurel and Ed…. it was an honor to be a part of your day!

Dolly and Juan’s Post Wedding Session November 19, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 4:55 am

Tuesday November 18th

Today we got to do one o our very favorite types of sessions.. the post wedding Bride and Groom session.

No timelines to follow, no coordinators reminding us we need to hurry… ahhhh bliss ;o)

We met Dolly and Juan about a year ago now, they interviewed us to be their wedding photographers. Skip and I were both kind of sad when we didnt hear back from them after the interview.. well fast forward to almost a year later and I got an email from Dolly saying that they never did the big wedding they had planned, but bought a house instead and got married at the courthouse Dolly said she and Juan still wanted to do some wedding photos and wanted to do them with us… ahhh yes, they did love us!

We had a great time working with them at Balboa Park… here are a few of our faves…..

Carrie and Mark’s Queen Mary Wedding! November 11, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — shadowcatcher @ 3:53 pm

Saturday November 7th 2009
Carrie and Mark found us through one of our Shadow Alum Brides Diane whose wedding we shot a few years ago. From Diane’s wedding came, Helena…. Shannon… and then Carrie.
When we first met Carrie and Mark we knew they were going to be a really fun couple to work with. They had some really fun and creative ideas for their photography… and we were just the team to capture that!

We got off to an early start and met our assistants Janelle and Veronica at the ship. Veronica and I headed out to find Carrie while Skip and Janelle met Mark and his family for all of his “before” images.

The day couldnt have been more fun… we worked that ship from one end to the other getting some really great off the wall.. out of the box images. Carrie and Mark hired NR3 as their video team, and as always it was absolutely amazing working with them. I love, love, love it when photography and video can work as a team, the results are priceless!

Here are a few of our faves from the day…..
